The Phoenix Suns’ season is officially over, as they bowed out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs with a loss to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. And while Phoenix did not manage to earn a win in the series, the Suns’ season was much more than coming up short in the playoffs. Phoenix was not expected to come anywhere near the postseason but instead outdid preseason projections to win 45 games — nine more than it turned in during the previous season. The Phoenix Suns’ 2025-26 season is officially over as they suffered a series sweep at the hands of the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. OKC earned a 131-122 win in Game 4 of the series, but Phoenix fought throughout the game and made its opponent sweat. In the loss, Phoenix was led by 24 points from Devin Booker, though 22 of those points came in the second half. The Thunder were led by 31 points from MVP finalist Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while the team shot 17 of 34 from beyond the arc. The Suns shot 14 of 38 from deep. The Phoenix Suns are now one win away from elimination after suffering a 121-109 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix Suns didn’t quit, but their late efforts weren’t enough as they suffered a 120-107 defeat at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 of the opening round. OKC now has a 2-0 series lead over Phoenix as the series is set to shift to The Valley for Games 3 and 4. Despite trailing by as many as 26 points, the Suns continued to battle thanks to the fight of Dillon Brooks. Brooks’ fire allowed Phoenix to cut the deficit to 10 points, but it couldn’t fully come back. Brooks finished the game with 30 points, second only to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 37 points in the game. The Phoenix Suns face a 1-0 series deficit after an ugly Game 1 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nothing went well for Phoenix, which was ice cold from the get-go, and struggled to take care of the ball. OKC took complete advantage. The Phoenix Suns closed the season on a high note, dominating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 135-103.
